TBB

Dropped by Tiong Bahru Bakery, the Raffles City outlet. It was a spur of the moment decision because we almost missed the stop. I wanted to check out the hype, and I didn't expect anything much because to be honest, I don't really love bread, or savoury pies. Or thick pastries. Kinda picky huh? I don't really like food that feels too much in my mouth. OK. WEEEEEYERD.

Let me tell you ladies and gents.

Kouign Amann was so worth the visit. See the swirly pastry on one of the photos? THAT'S DA QUEEN.Oh yeah, it's pronounced "Kween Ah-mahn". This baby is soft on the inside and really crispy on the outside. I think partly due to the burnt caramel on the top. It was so good I came back just to get it for my mother. She had low expectations of it, and thought that if she heated it up when we were home, it would get hard. But it didn't! It was still soft despite my harsh oven temperatures. Haha.

The custard bun was okay, not my favourite. Like I have said, I don't like anything that feels too much. But boy, was the cream filling a lot! It filled through the bun and it was hard to cut through without squeezing out some cream. Still good nonetheless. The hot chocolate was lovely! It wasn't the kind of generic hot chocolates, if you know what I mean (I'm looking at you Coffee Bean/Mcd). You could tell they used good cocoa.

And the post ends abruptly here.
